This defines the messaging type and the data to retrieve from a field device. The connection definition by itself does not have enough information to contact the field device. A connection definition must be assigned to a Field Device to fully define a connection. Connection Definitions are only used for the Generic EtherNet/IP, ODVA EtherNet/IP, or PROFINET firmware. Connection Definitions are stored in the Connection Library.
